Equisol Pro E365
Details
EQUISOL PRO E365 5lt
Pro E365 is not a coating. It’s a penetrating, non-film forming, clear exterior timber oil that highlights the natural beauty of timber grain with a signature matt finish.
Pro E365 migrates and diffuses into the timber for long lasting protection from within, minimising warping and splitting. Its environmentally-friendly linseed oil base is specially formulated with mould and algae inhibitors to resist the growth of black mould on your deck while nourishing and preserving the timber, and controlling the effect of sunlight exposure with enhanced UV absorbers. Use the clear oil to allow the natural silvering process, or add an Equisol Colour Tone for rich colour that lasts longer.

PREPARATION:
Reapply when the timber has faded to a pale colour or water is not beading on the surface.
FIRST RECOAT: The process of removing previously failed finishes dries out the natural oils in the timber, so an initial recoat may be required sooner as timber absorbs the Equisol oil and Colour Tone. It is recommended to apply the first recoat in approximately six months if the timber is fully exposed to the weather. Once your timber has achieved a natural balance of oils again, the freshly oiled look will last longer.
REGULAR RECOATS: Multiple coats of Equisol with Colour Tone will darken timber over time, so prepare surface first with Equisol Vitalise to remove old colour, dirt, surface contaminants, grease, rust and water stains. Sand areas of broken or uneven colour with 80 grit sandpaper.
PROCESS: Apply one light coat of Equisol Pro E365 to the clean, dry surface. Frequency of recoating will vary depending upon degree of exposure, intensity of pigment, climate, aspect, etc. Initial signs of wear will be observed on exposed areas. Horizontal surfaces (eg. decks and handrails) require shorter interval before recoating than vertical parts, as water and dirt lying on the surface and long sun exposure will erode treatment more rapidly.
More than two coats per recoating are not recommended, as Equisol Pro E365 will not penetrate timber, resulting in stickiness, uneven surface colour and sheen.
THINNING: Does not require thinning.
DRYING TIME: Drying times are dependent on timber type, moisture and climate.
RECOAT: Leave for 24 hours if possible
WALK ON: 24 hours after recoat, or when dry.
APPLICATION:
Stir thoroughly before and during application with a flat blade stirrer. Apply two coats using a brush, spray or floor applicator.
On the first coat, ensure timber surface is touch dry, free of mould, wax, grease, dirt, and salt (coastal areas). Apply light coats. Drag each brush stoke out.
When using Equisol Colour Tones, follow directions on Colour Tones label. If job requires more than one tin of coloured Equisol, mix all together in large container prior to commencing for consistent colours.
Application can be used by spraying, lambswool applicator pad or brush. If applying with spray, back brush coating to ensure even penetration. Work along 3 – 4 planks at a time, in the direction of the grain. Ensure edges and end grain are fully coated.
Allow touch dry between coats. Do not apply under 10°C or above 35°C or when rain or heavy dew is expected within the drying time.
MAINTENANCE
On previously coated timber using Equisol Pro E365 or equivalent penetrating oil.
Previous waterbased coatings must be totally removed from surface or Equisol will remain sticky and shiny spots will develop. See PREPARATION.
